Ethics in the Courtroom, the Female Advantage Seminar

On Tuesday, July 19, 2011, there will be an excellent seminar held at the University of West Los Angeles. Ethics in the Courtroom, the Female Advantage is an interactive workshop featuring Barrister Executive Suite, Inc.’s Pasadena tenant Dr. Ellen Leggett.  She is nationally known for her expertise in assisting trial lawyers and witnesses in complex, high-stakes cases.

This seminar has been approved with the California Bar for 1 MCLE Bias credit hour.  Using real life examples of the courtroom styles of both successful women and men trial lawyers, the presentation includes recommendations  for practices that jurors are most likely to admire in the courtroom, what practices should be avoided, and how to best utilize women as corporate representatives and witnesses.

We hope other Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. tenants will be able to attend this seminar.  It should be a very interesting and informative seminar with Dr. Leggett who is recognized for her experience and knowledge.

Good Times in Marina del Rey

A good time was had by all as Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. celebrated the opening of their newest location, The Marina Beach Offices at 475 Washington Blvd. with a summer sunset party.  Commercial and Residential Real Estate brokers and local business professionals were in attendance, and everyone enjoyed the fun filled evening full of great food, drinks, and great conversation.

The innovative space provides a creative and energizing work environment. “It’s a place where you’re excited about coming to work and look forward to being in the office,” said Carrie Gates, Vice President of Sales. “The local community has been very receptive and sees the benefit of being in a thriving environment that also gives more work/ life balance simply by working here.”  The walk up building offers some great features that make it highly attractive to professionals who live in the area. The bike rack and easy parking access make it a fun commute. “We walked here from our home in the Venice Canals area,” said Todd Nealey, Farm Boy Productions. West Los Angeles Welcomes New Tenants with a Party!

Barrister Executive Suite, Inc. in West Los Angeles welcomed new tenants and celebrated long term tenants with a party last week.  Dawn Armstrong, Suite Manager, hosted a packed party to show Barrister’s appreciation and kick off the 4th of July weekend.

Barrister tenants and staff enjoyed delicious food, refreshments, and fun toys that tenants could take back to their office!  The party gave everyone a chance to take a break and talk to fellow tenants in the suite. 

“We have some tenants that have been with Barrister since we first opened this location and we have some tenants that were moving in July 1st,” says Dawn.  “A party was the best way to show the new tenants what kind of fun we have here at Barrister and to show our long term tenants that we still love having them.”

Barrister’s location in West Los Angeles is a great community of business professionals and ideal for people who like to network.  Tenants include CPAs, attorneys, nonprofits, and entertainment to name a few.  But, what they all have in common is they like to have fun!

Brokers attend Open House in Mission Valley

It was great to see so many friendly faces at our Broker Open House in Mission Valley. Brokers were able to see and experience the suite first hand, and enjoy nibbling on some Mexican food.  Thank you to all who attended.

In addition to being such a highly sought after location, guests were impressed by the scope of services and amenities that come included with the space.  It is the ideal place for Brokers to refer their corporate clients who need image and flexibility or local companies that want more efficiency and ROI for their rent dollar.

Tenant in the Spotlight: Steven Ricklin

Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. would like to congratulate Steven Ricklin!  Mr. Ricklin is a tenant at Westlake Village and the recent recipient of an award honoring his selflessness from the Rotary Club of Westlake Village.

Mr. Ricklin was surprised with the award at a weekly luncheon hosted on Wednesday, June 22nd. Steven has been a Rotary member for four years.  In his role as Chairman of the Incoming New Generation for 2011, he is responsible for all youth projects in the Conejo Valley for all school age children and teenagers.  His most recent project is placing a High School student from Denmark into Agoura High School.

Mr. Ricklin has a successful Family Law Firm in Westlake Village.  He has over 15 years of experience practicing in all 5 counties of Southern California.  Aside from Mr. Ricklin’s charitable work with the community he enjoys tennis and collecting fine wines.

Tenant Social in Pasadena

On July 1st the Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. staff at the Corporate Center Pasadena will be hosting a tenant social.  Barrister’s popular tenant socials are a way for tenants to take a break from work and get to know their neighbors.  There are always new faces in the suite and Barrister encourages them to join the community and to take advantage of the excellent networking. 

 “The tenant social is a time for tenants to forget about work and have a good time.  Some tenants will begin to talk about their business, but we welcome it.  As the Suite Manager I encourage my tenants to network within the suite.  I see that a lot of business gets referred by tenants who are in the same industry or even those that aren’t,” says Suite Manager, Toni Hernandez.  “That is what is unique at Barrister – a lawyer can work out of an office and have a CPA to his left and software company to his right.  And, he doesn’t have to go far to get help or to make a referral.”

The tenant social also reminds tenants that the office can also be a place for fun!  And why shouldn’t it be if you are there 9 to 5, Monday through Friday?  With a suite full of different professionals, a community is developed and tenants can have a more enjoyable time at the office. 

Barrister will be providing a giant sub sandwich and drinks, while other tenants bring their favorite side dish, appetizer, or dessert to share.  Barrister in Pasadena looks forward to seeing all of their tenants for a bite to eat!

Free Summer Concert Series at Sherman Oaks Galleria

The Sherman Oaks Galleria is one of Barrister Executive Suite Inc.’s locations with the most entertaining options.  Situated on the 9th floor of the Comerica Bank Building in the Sherman Oaks Galleria, tenants have access to a long list of restaurants, shops, and entertainment.  The Galleria is considered “the location where Barrister tenants come to work and play.”  But, during the summer, tenants have even more of a reason to play after work. 

The Sherman Oaks Galleria presents Galleria LIVE! FREE Summer Concerts which began Jun 4, 2011 and continues every Saturday through August 27, 2011. Galleria LIVE! is back and ready to rock your Saturday nights with FREE live performances by LA’s favorite bands. Come out and enjoy something to eat while you listen and sing along to songs you grew up with as well as new hits.

Success at Barrister’s Newest Location

Mission Valley’s Remodel Calls for a Party

Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. is pleased to present Mission Valley’s recently remodeled suite in San Diego.  The reception area and hallways throughout the suite have been updated with new furniture, wall covering, and reception desk.  Both tenants and clients have been very pleased with the suite’s contemporary look.

To celebrate, Barrister will be hosting an Open House that will include lunch to local real estate brokers with a raffle and a chance to win an iPad2.  Brokers will have the opportunity to tour the suite and reconnect with tenants they referred to Barrister.  After touring the suite, brokers will continue their confidence in referring clients to Barrister with complete confidence, knowing that at Barrister their clients will be viewing space with beautiful common areas and excellent services.
